Pioneer Days in New Albany, Mississippi occurs every autumn as visitors can step back in time and participate in Heritage Pioneer Days. The date for 2014 is October 3 and 4. Activities of Pioneer Days include Mule Pulled Hay Baling, Soap Making, Boiled Peanuts, Sassafras Tea, Quilting, Leather Working, Fur Trapping, Dulcimer Playing and Pioneer Days Music, Butter Churning, Spinning Thread, Dyeing with Natural Dyes and more. Friday is the day that classes come and students have the opportunity to learn about how people lived in the Pioneer Days in New Albany, Mississippi; and Saturday is open to the general public where children, parents and grandparents experience Pioneer Days life with hands=on activities. .
