  Mark your calendars for May 18, 2013 : Magnolia Drive Bluegrass! Down From the Hills Heritage Music Festival and State of Mississippi Bluegrass Championships 2014 are set Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Union County Fairgrounds in New Albany.  More than $8,000 will be given in awards in the following categories:  Bluegrass Band,  and the following in adult and youth- fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, & dobro.   The sought after band Magnolia Drive will perform as well as others.  They are a hard playing traditional bluegrass band with a strong gospel grass sound. They help tell the history through the photographs they carry and the sentiments expressed in the messages. Exhibit Opening: Furniture- Form and Function

3/31/2009 – 3/31/2009 5 – 7 p. New Albany High School Annual Art Exhibit will focus on the craft of furniture. Students have created furniture designs, they have built furniture and modified exhisting pieces. As always, the student art is diverse, vibrant and pulsating with energy. Among Mississippi’s most prominent artists, Mildred Wolfe’s work hangs in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., and her sculptures are included in the collections of the Mississippi Museum of Art, Millsap’s College , Montgomery Museum of Art, and the Library of Congress.
